Privacy notice
Mythic Math · version 2026-10-28 · DRAFT, PROPOSED: to be reviewed by a lawyer before the game is sold.
Mythic Math is a math practice game for children, made by a parent. This page says what the game keeps, why, and how a parent can see or delete it. The game is meant for families in the United States.
Who makes the account
Only a parent or guardian can make a family account. The parent gives an email address and ticks a box agreeing to this notice; we send a confirmation link to that address, and the children's trainers can be added once the link is clicked. That is how we know a parent agreed.
What the game keeps
- About the parent: the family username, the email address, the password and parent PIN (kept only as hashes, which cannot be turned back into the password or PIN), the time the parent agreed to this notice and which version it was.
- About each child: a nickname the child chooses (it can be anything; no last name is asked for), a school grade, the creatures and items in the game, and every problem answered: the question, the answers given, hints used and time taken. This is what the parent page's reports are made from.
- Nothing else: no real names, no birthdays, no photos, no location, no contacts, no microphone or camera. No advertising, no tracking across other sites, no analytics companies.
Why
To run the game (progress is saved online so it is the same on every device), to show parents how their child is doing, to let a parent get back into a lost account by email, and to keep the game working (server errors are logged).
Who can see it
The family, on its own account. The person who runs the game can see it too, to fix problems and to help a family. The game runs on services that store or carry the data for us: Vercel (the website), Supabase (the database) and Resend (the emails). They work for us and are not allowed to use the data for anything else. We never sell data, and we never share children's data with anyone else.
How long
While the family account exists. A daily copy of each trainer's progress is kept for 30 days as a safety net. A parent can delete the family and everything in it, for good, any time, in Parents, Settings; that removes the trainers, their progress, the daily copies and all problem records at once.
A parent's rights
A parent can see everything the game keeps about their children on the parent page (the progress, the problem history, and a spreadsheet of every answer), can delete it, and can withdraw their agreement by deleting the family. Questions or requests: write to mythicmath@gmail.com.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will ask parents to agree again before the game keeps anything new.
